After years of working with no problems, I am now having problems with the IFD100 showing the databases missing. However they are loaded with the proper dates. Therefore the IFD100 does not sync with my iFD540.
Recently my iMac can not be used anymore due to the OS being older for Jepp updates (frustrating), so I use my Windows computer for the Nav/database updates. Also I subscribe as an IFD440 to save money on the subscription. I have been doing this with no problems for years. Can anyone help?

Let's see if we can help. First, I'll comment on macOS vs. Windows with respect to JDM.
The Jeppesen Distribution Manager (JDM) Mac application supports macOS 13 and greater. If your iMac is the 2017 version or greater, you can update the OS to support JDM. Stated another way, an iMac model from 2015 or 2016 cannot run JDM, unfortunately. If you've got the 2017 or greater edition, update macOS then download JDM. Now to the IFD100 issue. I'm not clear on what "...IFD100 showing the databases missing" means. Might you be referring to the "No Nav Database" text that appears front and center for the IFD100 displays if there is no available navigation database? We have different iPads running different iOS versions, so maybe we can recreate your scenario. Let me know what version of iOS your iPad is running. We'll configure similarly and see what might be the issue. If you want faster and live support, call our support line and ask for me, Gary. Edited by Gary Lutchansky - 30 May 2025 at 5:50am |

I get the message "databases missing or not current" when I start the IFD100.
I think this has happened ever since I updated to 10.3.0.2 many months ago. I don't know how to get rid of the message, but it doesn't prevent me from connecting to the IFD540 or the IFD440. I keep my databases current on both panel units and on two IPAD minis....version 6 and version 7 (A17 Pro). Either IPAD will connect to the 540 or the 440.

rpostmo, per your comment:
"I get the message "databases missing or not current" when I start the IFD100." When not connected to an IFD, does this prohibit you from creating a flight plan? Second, once connected to an IFD, is the message cleared?

It doesn't prevent flight plan transfer, creation, or any other function I can determine.
The message is on the :Username Password page, not on the function pages that are visible in use. |

Thank you for the clarification.
In some cases, the "Databases missing or not current" footer text displays erroneously. As you've discovered, with up-to-date NavData for your IFD100, after pressing "Start" all works as expected by syncing with your IFD.

Hello team, I am seeking guidance on IFD100 to IFD440 sync.
I've been using a 2012 edition iPAD which is running short on storage, however, it happily takes in (sync's everything off my IFD440). However, the newer iPAD, even though similarly configured is not as receptive, and worse yet, even though its connected to the LIO-WIFI network and not blocked by the IFD440 it does not communicate like the old one....longer story below: I understand 10.3.2.2 is the latest AviOS...however, I have the Avidyne IFD440 (on AviOS 10.3.2.1) with the latest dB updates. The iThing (currently on iOS 15.8.5), and iPAD Air2 also has the latest dB updates. Upon starting the IFD100 10.3, the app's banner message states "databases missing or not current". I've verified the "checkboxes" on the update page confirming dB's are indeed updated. Regardless, all FPL's on the iThing are auto sync'd with the IFD440 shortly after connecting to the LIO WiFi network. A newer edition of the iThing gives me the same message, however the IFD440 states "Plan Sync" disabled in blue. I am able to see the Pri/Sec NAV/COM, I can modify the standby frequencies (when it is communicating). Is there an iOS version cutoff or extended configuration option that prevents the flightplan & map sync to the newer iPAD? The Air2 is running short on space, so I'll be forced to upgrade at some point, but its the only one that works consistently...thoughts? Thank you. |

Have you compared to see that ALL of the databases, including terrain, are the same between them?
After you login to the Jepp database at IFD100 startup, there is a gear icon on the top right hand side of the screen. Touching it should show you all of the files that the app is syncing to Jepp; if you don't have the exact same set and version of files on both the IFD 100 and the IFD, you'll get the error message about missing databases, which messes up your ability to transfer flight plans via the app. |

I'm having the same problem. Ipad mini a17pro works fine, Ipad mini 5 with the identical databases and config (at least so far as I can tell) won't sync flight plans. I originally thought it was because I had 10.3.2.2 IFD 100 on the mini 5, so I downgraded and reloaded the databases, but it didn't work.
Any ideas?

I wanted to follow up on my previous message on 3/3. Somewhere in the forums I saw mention that mixed versions might cause a problem. The particular iPad I was having a problem with had had a number of versions of not only the IFD100 app but also both the Trainer and the TrainerXP. I removed all the apps and data and reloaded the 10.3 IF100 app, and it worked.
