I went on my second flight with my new IFD 540 today. I noticed several times that some traffic was shown with tail numbers. I have a TAS 605 installed but did not think that it was capable of receiving tail numbers. Where is this information coming from? I have a picture, I just cannot figure out how to post it.

Yes, but I have a TAS605. The TAS605A is not shipping yet.

I guess the TAS605 also is capable of displaying the N numbers according to the Avidyne website functionality for the TAS605:
