For those who have successfully upgraded from GNS units to IFD units, chances are you still had some updates left on your GNS data subscription with Jeppesen when you got rid of that device.

Did Jepp allow a transfer of remaining credit from on subscription product to a new one?  Is there a way to do that via the website (I don't see a way), or did you call and speak to a sales rep?

Any magic phrases required to get that to happen?

My experience is that you will have to call a Jeppesen customer service representative to get the subscriptions set up. They do not seem to be well set up for e-commerce in this area. They will likely sell you a new 540 subscription and then give you a credit for the unused portion of your old 430 subscription.

I agree with both Bob's comments. This is how Jepp generally handles subscription changes. You might try it via email, but phone is likely quicker and more reliable.

I called them up to ask this very thing. You definitely want to do it by phone, and then it is very easy They set up a new plan, and cancel the old one. You get full credit. Change can be active within a couple of hours.

Sounds pretty painless.  Many thanks!
