Other than the greater range and altitude on the 605A, neither of which is that important for an aircraft with a service ceiling of 18,000, there doesn't seem to be much difference between the 600 and 605A.

Is that the basic difference, or are there some other advantages to the 605A for a smaller aircraft?

Now the 605A has ADS ready circuitry (or is it working now?), but the 600 is upgradeable to a 600A.

I believe the TAS605 also does something with the exact positioning of the targets .. relative to your position. .. The TAS600 apparently does not do this.

OK, I purchased a 605 (vice 600), here is why ...

1) Double the range. The 605 is rated for 15nm, I expect that will give me dependable targets out to 10nm

2) The 605 uses heading information directly, this allows for near instantaneous display position updates in turns. Important for helicopters, nice for planes.

3) But, the biggest reason is that the 605 comes with a coupon for a "free" ADS-B integration update, which is worth about $2000, the 600 does not. The difference in price between the 605 and 600 is about $2000, so it is really a no-brainer. The ADS-B integration is very nice, it will allow reception of not only ADS-B out from aircraft, but also ADS-R from ground stations, eliminating the need for a ADS-B transceiver, at least for traffic.

Work should be done this week.

Orest,

Looking forward to Pictures of your Panel and how you have all this stacked.
What month of production is your 540?
