So I just bought an SR22, and it had a dead MFD.....I have chosen to swap to an avidyne MFD via the cirrus SB.  All the research I did said the ARNAV engine monitor is now garbage, that's understandable, sucks, but understandable. I've been told by a few guys that have done this swap that I need an SIU module to put engine monitoring on it.  Are these really that impossible to find?

Oddly I just found a used emax, complete down to the probes....and out of an 01.......hot dog I thought.  Then I see it was a DAU module, which I have been told repeatedly won't work with paralleling my existing instruments.

I've called in, and never got an answer as to if I can buy an SIU, nor have I gotten an answer to concrete that a DAU in fact cannot be used in an early SR22.  Hopefully this post will be answered.

Hi Paul,

With approximately a 1-month lead time, Avidyne can sell you a SIU for your airplane.

Your information about DAUs not working with the early model Cirrus aircraft is correct.

If you want to go the SIU route, let us (Avidyne Sales or Tech Support) know or work with your local dealer.  Either way, we can get this done.

How much are the SIU modules, what all do they come with, and is there any chance of getting an overhauled unit?

I'm trying to add EMAX to my 2003 Cirrus SR22 but am told I cannot unless I find an aftermarket SIU
Any suggestions on who and where I can get this done would be appreciated.
I've called a lot of places and they all say the same thing
Seems I'm in a simlar position as Paul

SIU availability is severely challenged.

I think the best avenue might be to contact NexAir Avionics in Mansfield MA.  They own the STC to convert SIU aircraft to DAU aircraft and you'll have much better luck securing a DAU hardware unit.

You can contact them directly but we do have a call into them as well to check on price and availability.
