I installed my 2 IFD440s as slide-in replacements for the 430Ws so I do not have the optional audio cable. I don't really need it, because i get the "500" call from the EGPWS (KGP560) in my SR22 – but what would be nice to have is the TOD chime.

If the iPad is connected to to the IFD by WIFI and to my audio panel (PMA450B) by Bluetooth, is it possible to get the chime from the IFD100 app?

I also did the plug n play option a couple of years ago. I recently connected the audio wire to my audio panel. Besides TOD call out I am also getting terrain warnings.

I would recommend you take the time to connect the audio wire, it's well worth it in my opinion.

The audio is definitely worth it, and I expect more of the recorded and embedded thousand or so phrases that are available, will be coming alive.

In the Cirrus I have a $20K EGPWS terrain warning system installed - so you neither WANT nor NEED another terrain system. The KGP560 gives all terrain warnings I will ever need and even has its own page on the MFD.

All I want is the TOD chime :-)
