A couple weeks ago I flew to a friend's private field. It's on foreflight, but not in any of the jeppesen databases. I added it as a custom waypoint and the IFD took me there with no problems.

Descending to land though, it freaked out. I got every terrain warning imaginable like I was about to fly into a mountain or something. I hit clear a few times and it quit announcing it at least.

Is there a way that I'm unaware of to flag a custom waypoint as an airport to disable terrain warnings?

Oh, I assumed that you had already done that, and were having trouble.

PG around pg 2-48.

DESIGNATING A USER WAYPOINT AS AN AIRFIELD
To designate a user waypoint as an airfield, the waypoint must be
manually named using the following format
“AIRPORT XXXXXFT” where XXXX is the field’s elevation and
note that the space is critical in naming the point.

I totally missed that. Thanks, that's exactly what I was hoping for.
