FYI, I read this article in AOPA and had the following question - if you accicentially cause your transponder to flip into "stdby" mode, are you still transmitting your ADS-B signal? 

If not, this would seem to be a super easy way to get into serious trouble rapidly with the FAA now...

I also wonder about airshows like Oshkosh where they typically have you turn off your transponder due to traffic density in the arrivals...

Oshkosh no longer has the requirement to turn off the transponder, at least it wasn't there last year.
