The F500 option is related to the "Forward Looking Terrain Avoidance" (FLTA) function.  In order to provide the synthetic vision functions (including the exocentric view on the Map page), the system is required to implement FLTA-like functions.  So, that's the "F" in F500.  The "500" is for the 500' AGL callout feature.

TAWS includes other features over and above F500 such as alerting for Premature Descent, Excessive Descent Rate, and Negative Climb Rate.

The IFD doesn't currently claim the TAWS TSO.  Therefore, the TAWS option has not been offered and no IFDs have it enabled.  The option shown on the system page is there to support that option once it becomes available.
