I recently purchased a new IFD540 & hope to install next week to replace my Garmin 530W. My question is, will it come with any nav data, obstacles, & terrain already downloaded?

Comes prelosded with a Worldwide Database installed, but also comes with two America's Updates. You will want to update your box with one of them so your IDF100 will be able to talk to your 540, and your Training App will also mirror your IDF 540 and 100 database.
