Greetings to everyone. I am a new member here and am doing a panel upgrade to my 1956 C-172.
My project includes the installation of the following items.
 2 Garmin G5's with gum-11 magnetometer and GAD-29B
 a Garmin GTX-335 Transponder
 a Garmin GMA-345 Audio Panel
 a Trio ProPilot AutoPilot
 a Avidyne IFD440

I have studied the G5's/GNS 430w wire pinouts, along with the GTX-335 & GMA-345 for the same.
My question is are there other wire hookups available between these items not showed in the Garmin
prints that will allow fuller use of the IFD440's capabilities? Like possibly using the stby com freq. monitor function through an aux position on the GMA-345 audio panel.

I would definitely spend the extra and get the GTX345. It will provide dual band in to your IFD440. It will send bluetooth to your ipad for Foreflight or Garmin Pilot. Well worth the difference.

I agree.  In fact, that is what I did.  I display FAA provided weather on my IPad and XM weather on my IFD540.  Traffic shows on both, but better on the Ipad.

The problem is I acquired the GTX 335 some time ago and only recently decided to do more than just the transponder. I will be removing an old Apollo 604 LORAN, and replacing its antenna with the GPS antenna. Now with the addition of the IFD440 I'm looking at having to run coax and installing a second GPS antenna unless I can send the required GPS signal from the IFD440.

I can't give you any advice on how to configure, but I have one GPS antenna with IFD540, GTX345, & G5 AI.  New coax with the new GPS antenna would be a good idea.
