| I was expecting that if I enter a frequency into the third standby slot on either the 100 or 540, that I would see that change reflected on the other side. That does not seem to be happening reliably. ( when I say "third slot", that is because I added one additional slot to the data blocks, so I have the two standard slots plus one extra.) is there a trick to making this work reliably? |

I thought I read somewhere that the VHF radios (Com and Nav) were one thing that did not sync between IFDs. In other words, if you had an IFD540/IFD440 combo in your panel, tuning a radio on one would not influence the other. My understanding was that the IFD100 would behave the same way. Disclaimer: I have not yet downloaded the IFD100 app. I've got bigger fish to fry in my airplane right now, so letting others be the early adopters on this one. |

Between the 540 and IFD100, the common frequency seems to be the 1st "standby" frequency down from the Active. Changing on one synchs the other... BTW, does anybody know what happens if Dual X40's have WiFi turned On - can this be used in some positive way? Maybe one unit configured as "remote" external WiFi, like Stratus box. Unfortunately, an iPad limitation seems to be: the 1st iPad App to connect to a WiFi seems to block a 2nd one from the same iPad from sharing... Tom W.

| I think you nailed it, Tom. The factory default config is to have two frequency boxes (active & standby) shown. I added a third (let's call it "standby 2"). If I change a frequency in the active or standby boxes on either the IFD100 or the IFD540, it syncs to the other side as expected. If I change the frequency in standby 2, it doesn't seem to. I'm not sure if this is by design or not. |

Yes, Using a three Comm freq datablock does not work on the IFD100 like the IFD540. There is no way to place the 2nd Comm standby to active and there is no way to get to the Nav Freqs that are under the Comm Freqs as in the IFD540 too! Yes, having 3-frequency blocks is nice on the 540 for planning, but with dual 540's (or 540/440), I reverted back to using only Single Standby Freq - 2-frequency blocks showing - allowing me to have more DataBlock space (like larger "Designated Wpt") below the standby freq. position. Tom W.
