What are the chances for a small box with the AHARS package?

I suspect there physically isn't room for those components in the smaller package, but an interesting question.  Let's see what Avidyne says.

David:

Just as a thought, what about a standalone "upgrade" box which attaches to either the 4 series or the 5 series IFD and gives it AHRS input data?

Seems to me that might be attractive to all the people who have the non-AHRS boxes now, but in effect it would leave Avidyne competing against itself so probably not practical?

That question was asked and replied to by Steve back on page 2 of the http://avidynelive.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=1025&title=ifd-software-release-10200" rel="nofollow -  IFD Software Release 10.2.0.0  post.  Not enough space in the 440 to put in the AHRS.

What about an interface between Aspen's RSM?

Does Aspen's 429 data stream send pitch information?

I'm thinking it does, and if so, with Aspen's Connected Panel could this information be linked to my 540 for essentially turning the 540 into a 550? I installed this package but hasn't really blossomed as of yet. :-|

I'm not an expert on this, but the IM for the Aspen section 8.1.7 lists the 429 outputs.  Pitch isn't one of them.
