I am trying to edit in my aircraft ID in the User Settings. The field is seven characters long, my tailnumber is five characters long. There is no "space" character. How do you enter just the five character long tailnumber?

For now I've prepended zeros (00CFCPO), but that is not very satisfactory.

Doesn't "Enter" or changing fields after you entered your tail number work?  I don't recall being unsuccessful in entering ours, which has 6 digits (including the "N").

That may be, but now that I have seven characters in there, not sure how I get rid of them.

I had the same problem and can't remember exactly how I fixed it.  I think I put my N number in followed by a 0(zero)  Then I hit clear or delete and it went away.

I used the Clear button, so to do my Canadian tail, I typed CFJPC, then moved the cursor to the end of the field and pressed the clear key so the cursor backspaced over the extra characters.

Orest,

I just did this yesterday, and as Peter said use the CLR key to blank out the characters at the end.  Don't try to clear the characters at the front end, or to prepend anything.  Just start filling in your ID and then used the CLR key at the end.  You might have to add the 6th and 7th characters and then use the CLR key to backspace over them.  It will shorten the length of the field to whatever you entered.

I put in my 6-char ID and used the CLR key to eliminate the final character.

Yep, the CLR key is the answer. Fixed it up today.
