I am not receiving traffic on foreflight via stratus 2. What settings on the 340 transponder do I need to set to get the traffic?

You need to configure the 340 to squawk that you are participating IN (TIS-B) on 978.

I have that part set for 978 In, and still do have traffic showing up. I thought there might be another step I'm missing. The transponder is displaying the ADS-B, I wonder if it is broadcasting it?

Send an email to:

9-AWA-AFS-300-ADSB-AvionicsCheck@faa.gov

With your GPS source & transponder type, and aircraft tailnumber.

You'll get a report back on your ADS-B broadcast, and whether it is correctly configured.

Thanks for the tip.

I sent off a request, and the reply was that it failed:

"Requested report attached.  The report indicates that there may be software issues.  Make sure latest software versions are installed."

I sent the report to my installer, I hope he can make some sense of it and secure a fix.

Rog. That should fix it.

Errors in ADS-B installation/setup are pretty common, and likely will be for a while.

I have a Clarity ADS-B unit with no optional external antenna offered( good internal antenna/reception?).
However the Stratus 2 unit from Sportys does offer an optional external (short whip w/suction cups)
ADS-B antenna :

Improve ADS-B reception with this suction-cup mounted antenna. The Stratus™ relies on ground based ADS-B transmitters for data. If you intend to mount the Stratus in a location that obstructs its view of ground based towers, simply plug this antenna into the back of the unit and mount to a window. Includes a 5 ft cable, antenna and 2 suction cups for mounting. This antenna is for ADS-B only. It does not replace or supplement the GPS antenna in the Stratus.

From IFD540 install manual:

7.5.3 RS-232 Port Configuration (Page 2 of 10)

The RS-232 Configuration Page allows the configuration Inputs and Outputs to match that of the equipment installed in the aircraft. The following selections can be made on the RS-232 Input.

Channel Outputs

KSDOC,
I assume you have an IFD540?    Or some other WAAS GPS (Garmin) that may require
different configuration setup with the AXP340?

Avionic shop that did my install had to adjust some of the settings on the 340 and now it's broadcasting the ADS-B out correctly, yeah! So finally have the traffic I wanted on ForeFlight.
