Hi,

I fly out of LVK and there is a SID called the Livermore 1 that terminates at ALTAM intersection (LIVR1.ALTAM). The procedure calls for climbing via RH to 1200 then a right turn to 020 and intercept V244 to ALTAM intersection. Anyone have any idea why the sim takes you out 100 nm on a heading of 020 before going back to ALTAM? Here's the FMS page:

Here's the map page:

Any idea what this is about?

Scott

The sim doesn't climb above 1000ft unless you set a higher crossing altitude on some downrange waypoint. Never reaching 1200ft it will continue the heading on the SID.

Without seeing your pictures, I think it's an artifact of the sim.   I just tried that scenario on my iPad sim and noticed a few things:

1.  My altitude bar woke up at 2000'.  That's the white ball/bar along the right side of the sim.
2.  The "Intercept next leg" (3rd leg in flight plan) was the active (pink) leg on a heading of 020.

Since the sim woke right up at 2000', it started the immediate right turn to 020 to intercept the next leg BUT that turn was inside ALTAM so it basically drove out on 020 forever and was never going to intersect the Victor airway into ALTAM.
