What happens to the Garmin annunciator in Beech aircraft with the 540?  Continues to work as with the Garmin 530W?  Or goes dead/obsolete?

You *should* be just fine.   I say "should" because I'm not sure what annunciator you have installed.  Do you know the model number or can take a picture of it?  Did it come from the Beech factory already installed or was this an aftermarket mod?

All of the annunciators that are identified in the G530 Installation Manual are supported by the IFD540.  We have most of them installed in our integration lab and we drive them every day.  Same holds true for our company test aircraft.

I've no idea what brand it is:  it was installed with my G530W by the previous owner as required by the panel layout of the Beech V35B.  If you're supporting the major models, I'll hope for the best, thanks.

It should be fine but if you send me a picture (sjacobson@avidyne.com), I might be able to id it and give you a 100% confident answer.

Picture sent, thanks.  It's sitting just above the altimeter.

That's a Mid Continent MD41-1488W annunciator and yes, the IFD540 fully supports it.  I just sent you an email with a picture I took this morning of that exact annunciator hooked up to, and being driven by one of our lab IFD540s.
