Hi all,

First time poster here. I picked up my plane a few months back from the avionics shop with a new GFC-500 installed. It already head GAD-29, dual G5s, and an IFD-540. Since then, I have found and fixed a few settings and a missing wire, but this remaining issue seems to have the shop stumped (me too).

Any help isolating the issue, or settings to check will be much appreciated.

Scenario 1
I setup an RNAV approach, activated it, activate on the Garmin, and it follows it laterally. Once at glide path intercept, the Garmin reverts to NAV mode. No warning. I pulled the logs from the G5 and no error/warning - just as if I had manually switched it back to NAV.

Scenario 2
I set up an ILS flew it to missed, and then setup an RNAV approach. Manually selected ILS and then manually selected back to GPS to ensure it was configured. On the RNAV approach, HSI properly indicates the LPV approach. AI has the magenta bars for horizinonal/vertical deviation, but the autopilot/flight director annunciations are armed for an ILS.
I was able to get this on video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_dPmkMwnC5o

There is a setting in the IFD maintenance mode called Appr Roll Steer.  This needs to be set to "Enabled".  This will allow the RNAV approach to work properly after the FAF.

Can't help with Scenario 2

Fixed it!

Needed to enable the Appr Roll Steer on the Main System Config.
