Just got my unit upgraded to 10.2.0.  Two features I eagerly anticipated aren't working, though:  BT keyboard and Syn Vis.

SVS is backlit green on the Software Status page, seemingly indicating that it is enabled for use.  (Surprisingly, *everything* else in that list is grayed out, including BT and WiFi.  Is that expected?)

Also, I paired my BT keyboard in maint mode, but I can't get it to work in Flight mode.  Do I need to do something additional to enable that feature?

On 10.1.2, once I paired the BT kb in MM, I could go to Flight Mode, go to a screen that required data input, press "Enter" on the BT kb, and I'd get a popup on the IFD saying kb input was detected, and did I want to allow it?  Touch "Yes", and the kb would work after that until the next IFD power cycle.

On 10.2, after pairing the kb in MM, I go to Flight Mode, and can't get the permission popup to appear.  I've tried multiple IFD data input screens, every key on the BT kb, turning the kb off/on, pressing the button on the back, etc.  One thing I noticed when I went back into MM to make sure the kb was still paired was that it initially showed up in the list, but it wasn't green+checked.  I turned the kb off/on, and then it immediately went green+checked in the list.

What do I need to do to get these features going?

Did you turn Wifi and/or BT, to ON in the settings? Believe it is OFF by default.

The dialog to allow BT connections comes up on bootup, different from prior to 10.2.

Yes, BT is enabled.  (I don't think I would have been able to perform the pairing operation if it were not.)  I am definitely not seeing any prompt at bootup to allow the BT keyboard input.

The shop provided a photo of a shipping label that indicates pretty much all features are DISABLED, including WiFi, BT, EXOVIEW, and TAWS.  I know where the settings are to turn on BT and WiFi and have confirmed they are ON, but I am not aware of any settings page to enable EXOVIEW.  Is that a factory setting?

This is one of the reasons why I wanted to be able to review the installation manual prior to going to the shop for the upgrade....arrgh.

Make sure you have the airplane outside and have a good GPS signal - you need that for SVS.

I flew the plane for a couple of hours after I picked it up.  The navigation was working fine.

Since everything else is greyed out I suspect that the BT and probably WIFI issue.  I had my units returned after some software work where I was enabled for features (VID)  I did not have and not enabled for BT, and WIFI.  Also both units had slightly different configs.  The shop got a new config file from Avidyne and was able to fix in in minutes.

My software config screen only has the SVS backlit in green, so it seems likely there is a configuration issue that needs to be resolved.  If that requires another trip to the avionics shop, I will be even more frustrated than I currently am.

I still don't understand why the SVS feature is illuminated on my box, but I don't see a tab to enable the view.  Seems like that much, at least, should be functional right now.

I *think* I may have had SVS only working on one unit when I had this issue..  I think it has sometihing to do with F500 not being enabled.  Loading the config file is just as easy as updating the databases.  See if you can talk the shop into email the file to you.

Thanks, Fritz.  Sounds like the config file is going to be the solution in my case, as well.  Apparently, replacement units are typically shipped with all features configured to "off", but the shop is supposed to get an email with the necessary config file to enable the appropriate features for that tail number, and a service bulletin with instructions on how to install it.  Not sure if my shop overlooked that or what, but the data's been (re-)delivered and now it's just a matter of getting it installed.
