Tonight I flew the RNAV to Runway 7 at KFSM and while I did get lateral guidance, I got no vertical guidance (no glide slope on my coupled approach). The GS never came alive. ATC did keep me very high all the way to IXASY, the IAF, at 5000' (the goodness it was VFR), but even thoiugh the GS and Approach buttons were lit on the DFC90, I never got vertical guidance. I have an all Avidyne panel with dual IFD440's, Entegra MFD/PFD, Avidyne transponder and SkyTrax. I did delete the hold that was written into IXASY because I was on a heading of 107.

Could it's be that there is some al;titled above the GS that the DFC90 will not allow intercept of the GS (maybe because the increased altitude would make the GS too steep?). The altitude at IXASY is a minimum of 3000' and the next fix is 2300'.

Any ideas about what I did wrong?
