Hi,
New Avidyne user here.  I am in the process of getting an Avidyne IFD440 setup and personalized in my Piper Archer and am using a Stratus 3 for ADS-B in.  It seems to be set up and functioning properly but I am looking for a way to get rid of the "no communication with traffic sensor", "datalink receiver fault", and most of all the "foreflight mode" messages that pop up frequently.

I realize that these messages are not an issue when airborne but they are generally an annoyance and something else that I have to respond to when preparing for takeoff.  I am a big proponent of Foreflight and utilize two ipads so realistically the redundant ADS-B information on the IFD is something that will rarely, if ever, be utilized.

I am wondering if there is a way to eliminate the ADS-B in to the IFD so it will no longer be looking for these inputs and therefore not trigger the alerts.  Obviously I want to still be able to utilize the ability to upload flight plans from foreflight to the IFD so I will still need the IFD to log onto the Stratus WIFI network.

Thanks in advance for any input and/or ideas

If your 440 has a 232 port configured for a wired datalink sensor and you don't actually have one connected, you're going to get those messages.  I'd suggest getting with our tech support so they can walk you through a diagnosis specifically for your installation.
