Anyone know or hear rumors about adding support for Garmin Pilot EFB?

I have been using Garmin pilot as my gi275 now streams EIS data to it and it's very handy.  Im thinking of just standardizing on GP and dropping foreflight.

Would be nice to sync flight plans back and forth without using another app.  I do use the ifd100 but it's not really the same function as an efb.

Actually this is all in Garmin’s court. The IFD API is readily available so no change in required on Avidyne’s part. GP would also need to start supporting WiFi.

Garmin added wifi support some time ago when they added the Stratus 3....maybe 2 years ago.

And I do understand it takes Garmin to dance but I'm sure both parties need to be interested to make it success.

My question was more if anyone has heard from either Garmin or Avidyne that its being worked on.

i dont think garmin would lift a finger to make the IFD products more viable ..

as far as they are concerned you can buy a GTN unit if you want GP to be able to upload flight plans.

I guess.  I was told by Avidyne a while back that Garmin was happy to provide integration support for their GDL-80 devices into the IFD.  Not sure why they happy integrate with an IFD from their GTX but be hostile to support the Garmin Pilot app.

And Garmin Pilot supports the industry standard GDL90 protocol.

I too would consider switching from Foreflight to Garmin Pilot , IF the IFD sent data to Garmin Pilot. So, Garmin could add subscribers if it was willing to work out a solution
