Can the EX600 display information from the Garmin GDL-90 ADS-B UAT (traffic, weather/TFRs)?
Thanks
Robert

Unfortunately, the EX600 cannot display information from the Garmin GDL-90 UAT system.  The EX600 does support weather from XM/Sirius through the Heads Up Technologies XM receiver or the Avidyne MLB700.  The EX600 supports traffic from a number of TAS, TIS, and TCAS I systems.

Avidyne plans on supporting FIS-B weather information on our MFDs in the future as ADS-B becomes more widespread.  It has not been decided which ADS-B receivers our MFDs will be compatible with.

The post and reply is almost two years old. Is there any new information about ADS-B displaying on the EX600?

If so, I would get a UAT etc.

Thank you.

Avidyne considers ADS-B an essential part of the next generation airspace and plans to support ADS-B technology in a major way, including the ability to display ADS-B traffic and weather data.  Currently Avidyne has not identified which third-party ADS-B receivers will be supported; however, as you might expect, we do plan to support our own ADS-B products.  Avidyne is playing a key role in developing the standards for ASD-B traffic alerting systems.  Our active presence in the standards development community helps us to assure that the products we offer our customers will meet their expectations for long-term compatibility with the next generation of surveillance technology.

Okay, understand.
Nothing changed since last.

Any idea of a timeline for either your product or decision to support third party?

Because I already have XM weather displayed on the EX600, I am mainly interested in the Traffic component of the ADS-B.

Avidyne expects to begin shipping upgrades to our TAS6xx products early in Q1 2013.  Additional ADS-B product announcement are forthcoming.  We don't have a timeline for third-party product support for our displays yet.

Has anything changed from my original question (GDL-90 support) after Avidyne announced Capstone protocol support (which the GDL-90 was a key component of)?
