So far I love the IFD-540 but after about 50 hours behind it I've noticed a couple of small but annoying issues. My installation has the current 10.0.3 software, an Aspen PFD, and a Shadin Miniflo-L fuel computer.

(1) The air data calculator defaults to an altitude in the flight levels (I think it's 27,200 feet but I wouldn't bet on that, I just know it's much higher than my service ceiling), shown in green text.  The Pilot Guide says "data fields in the various IFD calculators will be populated automatically with sensor data in green if it is available."  I'm not sure where the value is originating, but it is clearly wrong.  Maybe we can use GPS altitude here in a future software release?

(2) Based on what the Shadin is telling me for fuel reserve at destination, the 540 is incorrectly reporting the next waypoint as the destination in the GPS serial data.  This worked correctly before when I had my KLN-94 GPS installed. The fuel information on the IFD-540 itself is accurate (correctly shows fuel remaining at destination).

While I don't have the Aspen PFD, I do have the Miniflo-L and I have not seen what you are reporting on #2 after making several trips up/down the east coast via airways the intermediate waypoints and the destination have been reported correctly on both units.

Maybe this will help narrow down your issue.

On point (1), mine populates with the pressure altitude which is coming serially from my encoder.

On point (2) check the install manual as there are settings in the IFD's setup screens for sending either the next waypoint or the destination to your totalizer.
