I just created it. I'm thankful for this forum or whatever it is but not real excited about The format. If you are on FB come join. I sure have a LOT to learn about this box ! The Avidyne guys are certainly welcome too. https://www.facebook.com/groups/811790022228186/

You want to split the IFD 540 information among two forums because you're "not real excited about the format"?

Granted this forum software is a bit clunky.  If everyone else (including Steve) decides to move I'll do so.  But as long as the official information is posted here I'm staying.

You think a Facebook group is less clunky than this??!?

No thanks.  Have fun.

I appreciate you trying to find more ways to share information, but I like the way these forums are threaded so that you can follow a single throught / issue as it is discussed rather than having the random chatter you get on facebook.

This forum is a great place as is, the format is fairly standard, and it fits the purpose.

I don't do Face Book.

Bad, moving to FB is a bad idea. Keep the issues, responses and ideas in one place on this forum. Your action will just hinder the information flow.
Additionally, not everyone uses FB - I don't and never will.

Avidyne is definitely going to stay out here in this forum. I personally have never used Facebook and have no plans to ever do so. However, Avidyne does have a presence on Facebook and will also service that outlet whenever it makes sense.

I second Steve's thoughts.  I will never have a Facebook account.

No one is asking anyone to join Facebook for a replacement 540 page... But there are folks that may use it and never use this forum. The FB page is not intended to replace this page. It's just another option. Like FB or not, it's here to stay for a while. This forum does look better on my laptop but on the ipad is awful the way it's set up. I may have found it via the wrong link.....I found it by mistake really, when searching for info on the 540. Unless I'm still seeing something different, it's not like any forum I have ever been on and I have been on a lot.
Why did anyone get a 540 ? Replace a 530 ? More options maybe ? Huh, kinda like different places to learn and get information>options.
Someone off the Beech list looked at my link and said "your screen looks weird"
Check it out, maybe give me yours. http://avidyne17.rssing.com/browser.php?indx=18504817&last=1&item=1

Bad,

The direct link to the forum is forums.avidyne.com.  It looks like you're going through RSSING.COM, which is a site that leeches onto RSS feeds and reposts/rehosts them.  I'm not an expert on the subject, but I would suggest going to forums.avidyne.com.

As far as FB, I do use FB, but personally prefer to use this forum which is sponsored and monitored by Avidyne.  If the day comes where Avidyne censors or suppresses posts, then I'd be all for another venue.  So far, Avidyne has kept things totally transparent, which is a very good thing.  Just because I don't want to use FB for posting/sharing Avidyne experiences, doesn't mean I have a problem with others doing so.  I say "good on ya" for creating the FB page, and keep us posted over here if it gets any traction.

I have been browsing here (on my laptop) via another link I found and I believe I am on  the correct path now. It looks 100 times better !! I will have to try it on the ipad now.

Right. Avidyne will have a presence on FB. It just won't be me or this kind of forum data.
