I was just flying the VOR A approach to Y19 on the simulator. I know once I have my IFD installed I probably won't really fly this approach anymore, but I flew it for real yesterday and wanted to see how I would set it up in the IFD. I was arriving from the east where the procedure requires NoPT for arrivals between airway radials 029 CW to the 159 from the BIS VOR. When I selected the approach and the transition (BIS in this case) the IFD automatically enters the procedure turn even though the procedure turn is not permitted in this case. Is it possible to code the approaches so they are smart enough to not include the procedure turn when the situation fits the NoPT conditions? In the mean time we'll just have to use the "Activate Leg" button to skip the procedure turn.

We've been talking about that back here. No conclusions yet - it's still an active internal discussion.
