    Posted: 24 Apr 2016 at 6:36am
I had a very productive face-to-face meeting with EASA in Cologne Germany on Friday 22 April. We reviewed the punch list of items required for EASA approval of the IFD540 and IFD440. I took away a few action items to make some very specific updates to a few EASA specific documents and we should make those resubmissions on/about 26 April. EASA noted their workload is extremely high but if those changes we make are satisfactory, then we should expect cert within two weeks.

We have also set some templates up which should enable much quicker turn times for all future submissions.

I, or Simpson, will post an update here as soon as we have one.

Nothing yet. We do know EASA was happy with all the documentation as of a few days ago and the approval is making final internal rounds for signatures but no fully executed approval yet.

I have volunteered to head back to Koln at any point for a proper beer drinking introduction.

You haven't lived until you've had some true Kolsch in the little test tube glasses (Reagenzglas).

Okay, that's a bit overstated, but when in Cologne...

I would agree. I basically spent 4 years of my life flying out of Norvenich which is about 15 KM west of Koln. I've had way more than my fair share of Kolsch in Koln. Might even still have some in my bloodstream all these years later.

Keen to finally buying my IFD440. The IFD100 was the last convincing argument it took.
BUT I need the EASA Certification for it as my Mooney is German registered.

Any news from EASA?

Best
Dirk

Yes, we have news!

Avidyne is pleased to announce that we do now have EASA approval for the IFD540 and IFD440.  We can start to take orders now and the purchase/shipping/installation logistics conversations can begin.  Deliveries of the EASA approved IFDs will begin this month.
