The equipment:
Avidyne IFD-540 SV-XPNDR-261 SV-ADSB-472 SV-HDX-1100/B SV-GPS-250A Well... I tried to post pictures but this forum will not accepts files larger than 1MB.... So I'm not sure how you guys can help me without some visuals... SV-HDX-1100B message says "NO ADS-B OUT: GPS LOST" We need the GPS signal from the IFD-540 WAAS Navigator. We have confirmed the GPS signal for the IFD-540 is working in all other aspects. A multimeter confirms the GPS signal from the IFD-540 is pulsing at Pin 3 on the cable into the SV-XPNDR-261. The 2nd picture here shows NO GPS DATA in the HDX under transponder settings. The 3rd picture here shows NO ADSB POS in the HDX under transponder settings. 1.21k Ohm Resistor at the #3 pin on SV-XPNDR-261. At this point, we are stuck. If I switch over to SV-GPS-250A, ADS-B OUT works. But we cannot use the SV-GPS-250A for ADS-B OUT. Any thoughts? We are at a loss... Thanks! |

What serial output format did you configure the serial port on the 440?

I had the panel built for me. I did not configure it myself. It's a IFD-540.
However, through another forum I was advised to check the connection from pin 58 of the Avidyne 5001 connector to pin 3 to the SV-XPNDR-261. I was not able to confirm continuity. So I bypassed the wire with a new wire and now the ADS-B OUT function works. But... now I am receiving a new error message on the IFD as shown in the attached picture. Oh yeah... can't post pictures.... Error message says "No 429 from input: #1" |

OK, so what is connected to ARINC 429 IN 1? Could be a LOW vs HIGH Speed selection, or the wrong protocol selected. Did they give you a schematic for your panel? Gen

Here's the ARINC settings. BTW... I fixed the ADS-B OUT problem. Replaced the wire from Pin 58 of the 5001 connector to Pin 3 on the SV-XPNDR-261 (with 1.21 K Ohm resistor). NOW... I am getting the following ARINC ALERT (No I do not have a panel schematic. Will request one) Edited by baldcaldwell - 01 May 2021 at 1:26pm |

Got it fixed. Seems I bent a pin when I reinstalled the IFD. Straightened now and working. Thanks for your help!
