440 Screen will not auto dim???

I have went into user options and selected sensor however, every time I start up my 440 it dims (at night) and after it goes through it’s tests and I accept, it goes back to full bright and I end up having to use the manual dim bus control. I have checked with my finger over the sensor and it does work, it just seems to default to bright every time? Yes, my lighting is low in the cockpit and 3 oh my other screens (gma audio and 2 Dynon HDX) dim perfectly.
