Apologies for a dumb question, but I just got my IFD540 back from the shop, updated to the 10.2.0 software.
However, I can't figure out how to enable and turn on either WiFi or BT! I can see the configuration pages that allow you to scan for and pair BT devices, and change the WiFi network name and password. But neither WiFi nor BT seems to be activated. The "User Options" pages doesn't show anything related to either WiFi or BT, so I can't turn them on there, either. No icons above the data block on the Map page. How can I enable WiFi and BT on my unit? Thanks, Mike

Do you know that WiFi and BT are enabled on your unit?
I believe this is now an option you need to purchase.

It is only an option on the IFD440, all 540/550s have WiFi/BT available. But, sometimes a unit has to have the the WiFi/BT enabled by your shop. It is just a matter of inserting a USB key.
User enabling settings are on the AUX/SETUP/UserOptions page. Give support a call, they should sort that out for you quickly.

I called Customer Support; they sent me the file to load into a USB drive. That file allowed me to easily activate both WiFi and BT on my IFD540.
Now if I could just figure out how to use the WiFi on "Remote" setting so that I can connect both my iPad and Stratus to the Avidyne! Thanks, Mike

That is not officially supported. That said, with the latest version of FF, for me, it seems to work quite well, both with a Stratus and a Stratux. One tip, first ensure that your IFD is actually on the network. Use an app like Fing, and select your Stratu(x) network on your phone or tablet. I had mixed up I & 1, etc. a couple of times in the SSID. Once the IFD is there, it should show up, as soon as you log in with your tablet & FF. Works with FltPlan too. * Orest Edited by oskrypuch - 14 Nov 2017 at 9:21am |

Update: Avidyne tech support send me the file to enable WiFi and BT on my IFD540. They're both working fine now.
I configured WiFi to "Remote" and connected the IFD540 to my Stratus II. By connecting my iPad to the Stratus as well, I was able to successfully establish a local WiFi network. I downloaded FING and it verified both devices were connected. All devices are working perfectly! Thanks for all your help.
