My ifd540 has trouble finding my gps position on startup, I wait sometimes 10min, already warmed up plane took off and flying before I get a gps position. Sometimes have to reboot 540 twice before I get gps lock.
This is a new phenomena, it never took this long?? Running 10.1 version waiting for software update from dealer Any ideas? |

Get up to the latest firmware, that solves most of the problems.
If it doesn't, download your logs and send them into Tech support, they will see what is going on, and fix it. * Orest

I'm running 10.1.2 and there are times my units (540 and a 440) take five minutes to find lock. They both lock at the about the same time so I was thinking that's just the way it is. They have never lost lock.

Just to add a data point - I am also running a 540 / 440 combination using 10.1.3 firmware, and it almost never takes more than 2-3 minutes once I wheel the plane out of the hangar for them to find lock.
I have never lost lock on these units in flight.

10.1.3 is for those with GPS lock issues, update to 10.1.3.

I'm running 10.1.4 and experience LONG lock-on delays compared to when I was running 10.1.1. I did not update to either 10.1.2.or 10.1.3 as I did not receive notice that they were available until after I reported a lost signal on 10.1.1 a couple months back. I have also had a nav failure on 10.1.4 and have talked with tech support two weeks ago when I sent in the logs. I've not heard anything back as yet.
