I have an issue with my IFD540, that won't get a GPS fix if the antenna type is configured as WAAS. It simply does not aquire a GPS signal. It finds 1, 2 sattellites, after a couple of minutes, and that's all.
If I switch to the 'non WAAS' type in the configuration panel, it immediately fixes on 6,7 sattellites with no issue. The antenna is a Garmin GA35 WAAS type, the same type I use for my L3 NGT-9000 transponder, that gets a GPS fix on WAAS, at the same location. Any ideas on how to solve this? |

Sounds like a good question for tech support. Are you using the same antenna for the NGT-9000? They'll need to know that.

After the IFD reported a 'wrong GPS time' and after a couple more reboots, it works now. The tech team wasn't able to explain the behavior.
But I am glad it works now. |
