Is there a way to change frequencies on the IFD540 with the bluetooth keyboard? I can do pretty much everything else I want to but haven't figured out how to enter a new frequency without touching the IFD540 screen.
Thanks in advance for any assistance. BTW, I find the keyboard to be very handy, and actually prefer it to using the touchscreen on the IFD540, especially in bumpy conditions. Also, that makes it so I don't have to anchor a finger or two on the toasty bezel when using the touchscreen. Edited by AZ Flyer - 24 Aug 2020 at 2:23pm |

Yes, but you must first touch the standby frequency field on the panel IFD. This will open the onscreen keypad but instead of using it, just enter the new freq on the keypad and hit enter on the keypad. You can also toggle the standby freq to the active slot with the keyboard.
I agree that using the keyboard is awesome, especially in bumpy air as you mentioned. Edited by teeth6 - 24 Aug 2020 at 7:45pm |

That's what I was wondering: Can the standby frequency field be selected from the keyboard, and the answer appears to be no.

You can change the standby frequency using only the bluetooth keyboard. Press the "Com" button in the lower left of the keyboard, then type the standby frequency. If you just stop typing for a second or two or if you press ENTR, the entered frequency will be accepted as the standby. If you press the swap key (upper left next to the light bulb key), then the entered frequency will be immediately swapped into the active.

Wow. Thank you Steve. I did not realize there was a way to open the page to enter the frequency. That COM button will come in handy now. 😀😀

Thanks! I'll give that a try. I had attempted to use the COM button to select a standby field, but didn't see any visible change so assumed it wasn't working for that purpose.

Oh yes, one of my biggie interactions using the keyboard. Very handy. Also use it for the Transponder code. * Orest

I used the COM button for the first time today and as Steve said, it worked perfectly. I can't believe I've been touching the freq box on the IFD all these years to be able to enter a new frequency. Very cool.
